Manchester United youngster Luke Shaw persuaded French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin to complete a move to Old Trafford back in December in the stands at the St Mary's, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The report claims that Shaw, who was injured for the clash in 2014, told his ex-Southampton teammate that Manchester United was the best place to be at as the player's long-term future in the game.
Schneiderlin, of course, completed a move to Old Trafford yesterday afternoon despite being heavily linked with a move to north London, with the duo of Tottenham and Arsenal having been credited with interest in the Frenchman.

And it appears, then, that Shaw played a key role in helping persuade the Frenchman to opt for Manchester ahead of their Premier League rivals.
After a tricky debut campaign for United last term, Shaw will no doubt be hoping to kick on sooner rather than later, while Schneiderlin will be hoping to make an impact in the middle of the park in Manchester imminently.

Robert Lewandowski wanted at United
Manchester United want to bring Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski to Old Trafford this summer, according to the Telegraph.
The report claims that United chief Louis van Gaal has made the forward his number one target, as he goes about improving the club's front-line in the immediate future.
United, of course, have already landed Lewandowski's former Bayern teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger, but it remains to be seen as to whether they press ahead with a move anytime soon.
Di Maria wants Real return
The Telegraph, meanwhile, claim that Angel di Maria and his wife Jorgelina Cardoso want to return to Madrid this summer after becoming increasingly unhappy with life in Manchester.
The Argentine international, of course, endured a tricky debut campaign on English soil, so it's not entirely surprising that he has been linked with a move away from the club, but it's far from certain as to whether the Real hierarchy will make a move for the player's signature.
The report does go on to reveal that French outfit PSG could swoop for the versatile forward, who has a big decision to make over the coming weeks.
