A.J. Green will play out his franchise tag year at the Cincinnati Bengals and will not sign a new contract this year.
Whilst the deadline for new contracts is creeping up for the likes of Denver Broncos' Demaryius Thomas and Dallas Cowboys' Dez Bryant, fellow wide receiver Green will not be signing a new contract this year.
The 26-year-old will play out his final year at the Bengals under the franchise tag on a contract worth around $10.1 million.

He is a top contract priority for the Bengals, but he will wait till next offseason for a new contract.
Ian Rapoport was one of the first to break the news on his Twitter account.
Since being selected fourth overall by the Bengals in the 2011 NFL Draft, Green has become one of the best receivers in the league and one of the most exciting to watch.

Green said this to NFL.com last week about his contract situation.
He said: "I don't get into all the 'I need a contract' stuff. I'm not here for money. I'm not broke. So I'm fine.
"I can wait until the end of the year to get a contract, but I know that time is coming."
Green shouldn't have to worry about being given a new contract next offseason. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton signed a six-year contract extension with the team last season that will keep him at the Bengals till 2021.
The wide receiver will be happy that the quarterback is still at the team as the two have connected for 35 touchdowns over the past four years. This shows how necessary Green is to the Bengals success in the future.
For his new contract next year, like many other receivers have been asking for this year, Green will be wanting a Calvin Johnson-type deal next offseason.
He certainly has the stats to back that claim up. Since joining the NFL, the wide receiver has always achieved more than 1,000 receiving yards a season.
When compared to Calvin Johnson, who has recorded 277 catches for 4,533 yards and 25 touchdowns over the past three years, Green has achieved 264 catches for 3,817 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Whilst he may have less catches and yards, the Bengals receiver does have more touchdowns than Johnson. This might be enough for him to get a similar kind of contract to the Detriot Lions star next offseason.
It is important that the Bengals don't decide to play the franchise tag on Green next offseason too, otherwise we might start to see some unrest in the Bengals camp.
