Pedro could join up with Chelsea on their pre-season tour of the US by the end of the week if the Blues push through a deal to sign the Barcelona star.
This has been claimed by the Mirror, who report that the Spanish international could move to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £20 million in the transfer window.
The report goes on to claim that the west London outfit are preparing a four-year contract for the wide-man, who has failed to hold down a place in the Barcelona side over the last couple of years.

The Mirror even claim that Pedro, who has also been linked with a move to the Premier League duo of Arsenal and Liverpool, has spoken with Blues star - and former Barcelona teammate - Cesc Fabregas over a move to England, so it appears that the transfer could go ahead in the near future.
The player's long-term future, then, is in some doubt, with the Spaniard having admitted that his situation at the Nou Camp is 'complicated'. Pedro has, in fact, confirmed that he has received important offers, with Chelsea seemingly ready to bring him to the Bridge.
The Barcelona man stated: "It's true I have received important offers but don't want to say more out of respect for my club.
"My situation is complicated because I want to play a lot of minutes but that is becoming very difficult at Barcelona."
It appears that Chelsea will step up their interest in the Spanish international imminently, but it's far from certain as to whether the Catalans will sell their attacking star.
There's no doubt about it, Pedro, at £20m, would prove quite the coup for the Premier League champions, as Mourinho goes about improving his side ahead of the new campaign.
At the end of the day, the Blues chief will be determined to make his mark on the European scene next season - and adding Pedro will only help his cause.
It's crucial that Chelsea have the squad to compete, and with the trio of Willian, Eden Hazard and Juan Cuadrado at his disposal, as well as Pedro, the Portuguese tactical will have a luxury of attacking talent to choose from.
And Pedro will bring added class to the Chelsea ranks: dynamic and classy, the 27-year-old is in the prime of his career, and will only further add to the club's winning mentality. If put in the same side as the attacking trio of Hazard, Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, the Blues will have a formidable front line on paper.
If Pedro joins, then Mourinho and Co. in west London will take some stopping once again in 2015/16.
