Jordan Henderson delighted fans in Liverpool’s first match of pre-season, against Thai All Stars on Tuesday, by producing a wonderful rabona assist for Adam Lallana.
The newly-appointed Liverpool captain put the ball perfectly into the path of his teammate, who took two touches before burying the ball into the bottom corner of the net. (Scroll down this page to see the video).
This was Henderson’s first appearance since Brendan Rodgers named him as the club’s new captain last week - and on the evidence of this performance the England midfielder is relishing his new responsibilities.

Liverpool fielded two different elevens either side of half-time and went into the break 2-0 up thanks to goals from Lazar Markovic and Mamadou Sakho.
Lallana then made it 3-0, via Henderson’s excellent rabona assist, midway through the second half. Divock Origi added gloss to the scoreline in the closing stages of the match with a fourth.

Perhaps being named as the cover star of FIFA 16 - and, of course, being handed the captain’s armband - has given Henderson a confidence boost.
