Turkish club Fenerbahce is set to raid Chelsea for either Ramires or John Obi Mikel this summer, according to the Evening Standard.
Fenerbahce are still looking to bolster their midfielder and believe Brazilian playmaker Ramires to be the perfect man to fulfil that requirement.
Ramires has been one of the many recruits by Chelsea from Benfica and have slowly established himself from 2010 till now. Manager Jose Mourinho deems the midfielder as an important part of The Blues’ plans and hence might be reluctant to accept potential bids from any suitors.
The Istanbul based club have already made Manchester United winger Nani their first big-name signing this summer and are ready to follow it up by landing another Red Devils star, Robin van Persie.
However the situation of John Obi Mikel is different at Stamford Bridge.Having signed for Chelsea back in the summer of 2006, Mikel has failed to live up to the expectations and after nine seasons with the current Premier League champions is all set to move for pastures new.
Mikel wants exit
Mikel has been a back-up defensive midfield option for Mourinho for the last two seasons but is said to be frustrated at the lack of first-team football.
Fenerbahce would provide him with his wish of regular first-team action. The 28-year old Nigerian is said to have agreed personal terms with United Arab Emirates side Al Ain but the club has not reached any agreement with Chelsea regarding the fee.
Both players have won every trophy possible with Chelsea, with Ramires featuring close to 150 league matches and Mikel over 300 games for the Blues in all competitions. The Sukru Saracoglu Stadium-based outfit are undergoing a massive squad overhaul this summer in view of recouping the league title from rivals Galatasaray next season.
It remains to be seen Jose Mourinho decides to let go of which of the two and experts are of the opinion that Mikel will be the one set for exit door ahead of Ramires.
