Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke may have dropped a big hint about which club he would prefer to join by favouriting a tweet claiming he would be an ideal signing for Manchester United.
The Belgium international, who is reportedly wanted by both United and Liverpool, favourited the tweet from @FutbolFinn.
The Manchester United fan wrote: “He's exactly what we need [to be honest], just needs to be backup to Rooney,” in response to a Daily Mail article which claims the Red Devils are ready to beat rivals Liverpool to the 24-year-old’s signature.

Interestingly, the Twitter user in question was responding to a Liverpool fan who was delighted with the news that Manchester United might win the race for Benteke.
“Yeh i hope you sign him,” wrote @dooley87. “I don’t want him at Anfield.”

United fans split over Benteke
Manchester United fans also appear to be split over the possibility of signing Benteke, who has scored 49 goals in 100 matches since joining Aston Villa from Genk in 2012.
Some feel it would be an excellent signing, such as this lot.
While others are, shall we say, less convinced.
United need at least one more striker
United are on the hunt for at least one new striker following the departures of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie, whose transfer to Fenerbahce will be finalised once the two clubs reach an agreement over the fee.
James Wilson could also leave Old Trafford on loan - Hull City are reportedly interested in the young English striker - while Javier Hernandez is expected to leave on a permanent transfer.
Benteke is the latest in a long list of strikers linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks.
The Red Devils are also keen on Tottenham striker Harry Kane, Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint-Germain.
The odds of any of the three aforementioned strikers ending up at Old Trafford this summer are very slim, however, with their respective clubs not prepared to listen to realistic offers.
Benteke could be a good signing
United can sign Benteke if they decide to activate his £32.5 million release clause - Aston Villa are unwilling to listen to lower offers - and he could be the ideal striker signing if he is prepared to play second-fiddle to club captain Wayne Rooney.
With the Red Devils back in Europe next season, Benteke would be guaranteed his fair share of first-team football next season, while the chance to be part of Van Gaal’s exciting project at Old Trafford may also appeal to the Belgian - who is a friend of compatriot Marouane Fellaini.
Christian Benteke has now unfavourited the tweet.
