Manchester United signing Memphis Depay has revealed that he spoke with a number of top clubs before completing his move to Old Trafford earlier this summer, reports Goal.com.
The Dutch international, who left PSV behind in favour of a move to the Theatre of Dreams, has confirmed that German giants Bayern Munich were interested in his signature, but Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal convinced him to move to Manchester.
Depay, of course, is currently with his new teammates in the club's pre-season tour of the US and will no doubt be hoping to make his debut for the club later this week as they play Club America.

And, despite admitting that Pep Guardiola is a top coach, the talented forward has insisted that it was clear that he would join Manchester United after speaking to the club's manager.
Depay told Sport Bild: "There were discussions with nearly all the top clubs, and, of course, Bayern was one of them but, in the end, Manchester United came out on top."

"I can't say who the best coach in the world is. There are definitely a lot of good and well-known managers and Pep Guardiola is certainly one of them.
Van Gaal persuasion
"But I only spoke to Louis van Gaal and he totally convinced me. He gave me the feeling that I was very important for him not only as a player but also as a person - and then it was clear that I would go to Manchester United."
Van Gaal, then, will be hoping his new signing produces the goods for the club in the near future, with the Red Devils hoping to achieve success on both the domestic and European scene in 2015/16.
And there's no doubt about it, Manchester United fans should be extremely excited to watch their new star in action: quick, skillful, full of creativity and goals, Depay will no doubt prove a valuable member of the club's attacking line for the long-term.
He's the exactly type of player the Old Trafford faithful will enjoy watching, but there has to be a question over which position Van Gaal will utilise him in at the Theatre of Dreams...
Of course, at PSV, Depay was outstanding in a number of different areas: he's extremely versatile and may well be expected to star out-side, but may even be handed the opportunity to roam about in the middle of the pitch - either up front or off the striker.
