Following the merciless attack from Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins on Monday Night Raw, WWE has announced that Kane has suffered a "broken ankle" and will be out "indefinitely."
WWE released the following statement as regards to his storyline injury:
"Following the initial fracture, Rollins further exacerbated the injury by viciously attacking Kane while he was down. As a result, WWE's Director of Operations is out of action indefinitely."

Kane is the fourth superstar to be announced as out of action "indefinitely" after Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury were taken out by Brock Lesnar on last week's Raw a show that also saw Dolph Ziggler put out of action by a jealous Rusev.
It seems Ziggler's injury is a storyline so that he can take time off to film WWE Studio's movie '6:42', whilst Jamie and Joey are thought to have run their course with the company for the time being.
Kane on the other hand was supposed to face Dean Ambrose on Sunday night and this now leave the Lunatic Fringe without a match. Could WWE leave Dean off the card after he main evented the last pay-per-view?
Dean could very well involve himself in the main event since Seth Rollins is set to be taking on the former World Champion alone. The current theory is that Rollins could be about to pick up a new security team, in the form of The New Day.
The former Tag Team Champions have had their own problems with Brock Lesnar. You wouldn't blame them if they wanted revenge for what transpired at Beast in the East last weekend.
Speculation suggests that the main event will end in a DQ with Rollins retaining and walking into a feud with Triple H whilst Brock heads down a different path as all focus turns to SummerSlam in four weeks time.
Kane will return later this year as a babyface. If rumours are to be believed then Monster Kane could make a return to WWE but this time as a face and hopefully in the build up to Survivor Series so he can be part of the team that takes out The Authority.
Either way, Battleground is in four days time and WWE are still yet to announce Dean Ambrose's match and a divas match. It's highly unlikely that WWE will forget to book both.
