Tiger Woods is making a mistake playing in the British Open

Published 1 Comments

As the British Open starts at St Andrews I wonder what's going on in Tiger Woods mind.

Currently placed at 241st in the worlds rankings, its sad to see a once great golfer hack his fruitless way around yet again. Tiger? - more like pussy cat.

Game over

He can fist pump all he wants at the odd good approach shot or a lucky 30ft putt but at the end of the day he's lost his mojo and he cant get it back.

Is he just fooling himself? Are there still lucrative sponsership deals running I wonder.

There are not many sports where a guy 241st on the rankings is given so much air time or press comment. The pundits continue to suggest Tiger will soon be back to his best but who are they kidding. In my opinion he will  be lucky to make the cut for the weekend - remember he missed the cut at the USA open and his recent form has been very poor to say the least.

What next?

For what it's worth I think it's time to hang up his golf bag and join the pundits on the sofa, pontificating on the next big thing.

To continue in the way he has detracts from the memory of what a superb player he once was. Leave the game to Rory, Jason and Jordan and the host of other young bucks destined for greatness.

Look at the example of Tom Watson who is taking part in the open for the final time. Now that's how how bow out gracefully. Can you see Tiger carrying on in to his 60's?

Sorry Tiger the tank is empty and it’s time to leave the stage.
