Season results point to drastic situation in Formula One

Why are we having all the inconsistencies in Formula 1.

Top flight Red Bull struggling with their set up and disappearing in the dust of Mercedes and even ailing Farrari.  Computers, Drivers, management, money, tyres aerodynamics, everything is blamed for the lack of performances.

I guess only those in the inner sanctum know why, or perhaps not.

Same old, same old Champions

I love Formula 1, but isn't it getting very repetitive which is boring, don't you think?

First Michael Schumacher hogged the trophies from 2000 to 2004. Alonso had a couple of consecutive championships after that. Then from 2010 to 2013 we had to suffer race after race of Red Bull's Sabastian Vettel taking the checkered flag. Yawn, Yawn.

Where are the top teams now?

Where is Red Bull now?  Where is Farrari? McClaren? Low and behold here comes Mercedes zooming off into the setting sun, taking all the prizes with them.

Now race after race is being won by Lewis Hamilton. A repeat of last year? Not quite, Nikki Rosburg isn't pushing Lewis so much this time. Oh, the excitement, could Hamilton retain his title? Yawn, Yawn.

Teasing us with false hope

At least last year Rosburg made a race of it, albeit between one team. I thought after the first three or so races this season, things might get a bit more interesting. Vettel seemed to be almost matching Mercedes' lap times. But no. Now he is going backwards or at least not making any headway.

This is the same story across all the teams. MaClaren couldn't go much lower and its not the fault of the drivers. They must be so frustrated, but have to be admired for holding it together. Okay you have always had the poor teams of Formula 1, but now everyone's poor.

One car at a time

Why is it only one car a season these days reach the top speeds, and set up? Why can't at least one other team, with a big budget, get close to matching Mercedes, and make a race of it.

It's not the case that Lewis Hamilton is the best driver, anymore than Sabastian Vettal was or even Michael Schumacher. It's they had the best car on the circuit at the time.

Now is the time for change

They are all talented drivers, perhaps if all the engines and car set ups were the same we would then have racing as it should be. Something needs to be done soon or it will become a has-been sport.
