Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has confirmed that goalkeeper Victor Valdes will be sold this summer after the goalkeeper refused to play for the club's reserve side.
As reported by Goal.com, Van Gaal, who secured the signature of Valdes in the middle of the last campaign, has insisted that the Spanish international doesn't follow his philosophy, and has disappointed him with his actions.
Valdes, of course, wasn't selected by Van Gaal for the club's pre-season tour of the US, and now looks set to depart the Theatre of Dreams sooner rather than later.

In Van Gaal's press conference last night, the United chief stated: “Valdes is not selected [for the tour] because he doesn't follow my philosophy. The philosophy is how you play football and how you maintain your match rhythm.
"He refused last year to play in the second team. There are a lot of other aspects in the philosophy how you have to play like a goalkeeper at Manchester United.
"When you are not willing [to apply] the principles of that philosophy there is only one way, and that is out.
"For us this is a big disappointment. We thought he would follow our philosophy.
"It's a pity because we have given the opportunity to rehabilitate. Then we gave a contract. Then of course he is fit to play. When you're not playing in the first selection, you have to play in the second selection."
The same report from Goal claims that La Liga outfit Valencia could be ready to bring the former Barcelona man back to La Liga this summer.
With the 'keeper set to run out of contract at the Theatre of Dreams at the end of the 2015/16 campaign, the report suggests that the Spanish outfit will look to land him on a season-long loan deal.
Ruthless Van Gaal is brilliant
Let's be honest, Van Gaal is going to continue to upset a number of players as he goes about making a success of things in Manchester.
From Robin van Persie to Valdes, big-name players certainly don't matter to Van Gaal and he won't hesitate to axe them immediately if they fail to follow his philosophy.
Ok, so it will frustrate some, but it should excite Manchester United fans. The Dutchman is a winner and will no doubt motivate his side to deliver success in the near future. Van Gaal is seemingly intent on bringing trophies back to Old Trafford, and he won't let anyone get in his way in his pursuit of dominance on English soil.
