This Sunday sees the latest WWE pay-per-view take place as the stars of the main roster come together for Battleground 2015 in Missouri.
The likes of Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar, Kevin Owens vs John Cena and Ryback vs The Miz have all been hyped on an exciting card.
Unfortunately though for WWE fans one on those Superstars has had to be pulled from the event after waking up today to discover a serious staff infection in his right knee.

WWE confirmed that Ryback will not take part in the hugely anticipated PPV after picking up the an unspecified injury on Monday Night Raw, and now the wrestler himself has given fans some extra detail this morning:
Ryback was fortunate in one respect that the issue was caught early but, with several days under medical supervision ahead, he had no choice but to back out of Battleground.
Having been in impressive form in recent weeks - some suggesting he was hitting his WWE peak - Ryback will be devastated to miss out on a chance to reinforce his position as Intercontinental champion.
Such is the severity of staff infections though there is little to do but put yourself in the hands of medical professionals and kiss goodbye to competitive wrestling for a little while. Indeed, you may remember a certain CM Punk claimed that a misdiagnosis of his own staff infection had put his life in danger during his time in the WWE.
For Ryback, he can expect a few days of rest and recuperation after the staff infection has been taken care of. As for The Miz, the man Ryback was supposed to do battle with this Sunday, he is now left without an opponent for Battleground.
The WWE could hastily put together a new match - perhaps promoting Bad News Barrett from his pre-show slot - but The Miz is clearly upset at the current situation.
