Red Devils are trying to sign an ex-Manchester City flop

Stefan Savic isn’t a name you would readily associate with success in Manchester, but it appears that he might well be on his way back there, and not to link up with former club Manchester City. In a batch of speculation sure to surprise all Manchester United fans it’s been claimed this morning that the Red Devils have hatched a plan to capture the centre-back from Fiorentina, and are one of the clubs holding talks in a bid to take him to Old Trafford. Reports state that Sergio Ramos and Nicolas Otamendi remain the top defensive targets for Louis van Gaal, but he will turn to Savic as an alternative option if he’s forced to. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Meanwhile arguably the biggest talking point of this morning centres around the fact that Victor Valdes probably isn’t going to be playing for United anymore. Van Gaal has told the press that he doesn’t want the Spaniard as he refused to play for the reserves last season, whilst Valdes has hit back on Twitter.
