Jasper Cillessen could yet make a summer move to Manchester United, with Ajax boss Frank De Boer having admitted it would be difficult to stop the transfer happening if Louis van Gaal submits a bid.
It’s been quite some time since United were linked with a move for the Holland goalkeeper, but quotes relayed by FourFourTwo today suggest that De Boer is readying himself for the possibility of losing Cillessen, and the ongoing uncertainty surrounding David de Gea hardly helps matters.
New 'keeper needed?
If the Spaniard completes his protracted move to Real Madrid then Van Gaal will be left with just Victor Valdes as a reputable option in goal.

This is the same Valdes who the Dutchman slammed earlier this week for refusing to play for United’s U21 side last season, so it’s unlikely the former Barcelona man will be given the number one jersey.
De Boer worried
As a result a new ‘keeper is on Van Gaal’s shopping list, and from what De Boer has said it appears he’s worried Cillessen’s name is close to the top of the list.

"For us it would be a disaster if that's going to happen because it's already very difficult to find a good goalkeeper, especially if you have the best goalkeeper in Holland," he supposedly said.
"We want to keep him and he wants to stay, but if Manchester United come with a bag of money it can be difficult.
"We have to wait but the transfer period still has a long way to go."
Indeed the 26-year-old himself has hardly diffused the situation with his recent comments that agreed United would be a good next step for him.
Since he and Van Gaal have worked before it’s difficult to see why the Red Devils wouldn’t at least attempt to sign him, and it’s likely he would cost far less than they would raise through the sale of De Gea.
In any case Van Gaal isn’t limited in terms of options. Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris may have ruled himself out of the running by picking up an injury, but players like Argentina’s Sergio Romero - currently a free agent - could also be of interest.
