Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal would appear set to imminently complete his transfer to Bayern Munich after the coveted Chile international sent an emotional farewell message to his current employers.
It has been widely reported that the two clubs have agreed a transfer fee for Vidal, with £28 million the touted figure, and the player has now publicly confirmed that he will soon be set to depart the Turin club.
Vidal, who had also been strongly linked with a transfer to Arsenal, expressed his gratitude to Juventus supporters with an Instagram, thanking the club for ‘the best years’ of his career.

He wrote: “GRAZIE DI TUTTO! They have been the best years of my carreer [sic]!
“You, supporters, were always the best with me! ❤️ I will miss all of you a lot, thank you for everything #Juventus.”
It had long been expected that Vidal’s next destination after Juventus would be the Premier League, with Manchester United also having been credited with an interest in the 28-year-old in last summer’s transfer window.
But, with Louis van Gaal having added Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger to his Old Trafford ranks, Vidal is now due to move to the Allianz Arena to replace the latter and provide more thrust to the Bayern midfield.
Arsenal supporters, meanwhile, will have been disappointed that Arsene Wenger seemingly allowed Bayern a free run at Vidal, another central midfielder who was made available but the Gunners manager chose not to move for.
Already Arsenal have seen long linked targets Sami Khedira and Geoffrey Kongodbia move clubs this summer - going to Juventus and Inter Milan respectively - and some fans will be left scratching their heads as to why.
Yes, Francis Coquelin established himself as a player of great important last season, but Arsenal still require another player of repute for this area. Wenger has said he will move for an ‘exceptional’ player should there be a chance to do so - but these are three opportunities already missed.
