Petr Cech has taken very little time to establish himself in Arsenal colours, having made an incredible save on his debut against Everton.
The Czech international was given the nod by Arsene Wenger to make his Gunners bow in their pre-season friendly in the Asia Trophy, and it looks as though he’s already proving that Arsenal were right to spend money on him.
Despite the fact the 33-year-old has arrived at Arsenal at a time where they already have two established goalkeepers in Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina, it’s thought that Cech will be the number one heading into the new campaign.

With saves like the one to be found at the bottom of the article, made after a looping Steven Naismith header, it’s easy to see why.
Many eyebrows were raised when Chelsea made the decision to allow Cech to join Arsenal, with Jose Mourinho believed to having been against the idea from the very beginning.
Reports infer that it was Roman Abramovich who wanted to reward Cech for his loyalty by giving him the option to join whichever club he wanted, but even so it’s fair to state the ‘keeper has significantly improved Arsenal’s chances.
No disrespect aimed at either Szczesny or Ospina, but neither man appears to be consistent enough to be the first-choice goalkeeper in a time vying to win the Premier League.
Cech on the other hand, though ousted by Belgian sensation Thibaut Courtois, has been there and lifted England’s greatest domestic prize, whilst also having won the Champions League.
