The third NXT special event will be taking place the night before SummerSlam at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and the card is now starting to take shape.

The one match we all knew that was confirmed for TakeOver is the NXT Championship rematch between Finn Balor and Kevin Owens.

This will be Owens’ rematch after he dropped the championship to Balor at the Beast in the East special in Tokyo, Japan. The following night Owens will challenge John Cena for the United States Championship.

The latest set of NXT tapings took place earlier this week and the episodes will air every week for four weeks, concluding in mid-August.

The episodes obviously feature spoilers, confirming matches that will take place at TakeOver whilst others look set to take place but haven’t officially been announced as of yet.

If you wish to avoid the potential spoilers, please turn back now.

TYLER BREEZE VS. JUSHIN ‘THUNDER’ LIGER

This is one match the fans are looking forward to, perhaps the biggest shock in recent times on NXT.

It was revealed by William Regal that facing Tyler Breeze at TakeOver will be none other than wrestling legend, Jushin Liger.

This is something fans would not have expected, but it’s most definitely welcomed and it should be a fantastic match a momentous occasion.

SASHA BANKS VS. BAYLEY

After making her main roster debut this past week on Monday Night Raw, fans are wondering just how long it will be until Sasha Banks drops the NXT Women’s Championship.

It looks like TakeOver: Brooklyn could be that night.

She’s been a great champion, and has had some incredible matches against the likes of Charlotte and Becky Lynch. Bayley has also been a key figure on NXT and she’s capable of being the NXT Women’s Champion and she definitely deserves it.

It wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Bayley being crowned the new champion.

SAMOA JOE VS. BARON CORBIN

This feud hasn’t kicked off on television just yet but will in the coming weeks. After picking up quick victory after quick victory, some real competition has finally stepped up to Baron Corbin.

Samoa Joe will definitely be Corbin’s biggest test to date. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out though, a win for Joe will show he’s definitely championship material but we already know that.

Whilst a win for Corbin would be a huge deal, having a victory over Samoa Joe when you’re not the greatest of wrestlers is a big deal.

The match hasn’t officially been announced yet, but I expect it will be announced once the episode airs; perhaps through social media.

NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS

Blake and Murphy will definitely be defending their NXT Tag Team Championship titles and they actually have a number of options available, which is a great problem to have.

The favourites will be Enzo Amore and Big Cass. They’re by far the biggest fan favourites and will remain the favourites for a long time and fans do want to see them as champions.

They have had their opportunity and failed, so it remains to be seen whether they’re handed another shot. If they are then the safe bet would be that we crown new champions in Brooklyn.

The Vaudevillians will also be looking to get another shot at the champions whilst Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley have looked in good form – although the latter probably won’t capture the gold if they’re given the opportunity.
