NXT now has a new champion in the form of Finn Balor as focus now turns to the third special event of the year, NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.

The superstars and divas were back at Full Sail University this past week to take part in the next set of tapings. The four episodes that were taped will air weekly starting from July 22 through to August 12, just in time for TakeOver.

The NXT format sees the talent tape around three or four shows in one night, before they are rolled out to air on a weekly basis. If you wish to avoid the spoilers for the next four shows, please turn back now.

Eva Marie is in a match and she picks up the victory over KC Cassidy, hitting The Kendrick for the victory – the finishing manoeuvre of Brian Kendrick who has been training her.

As always, Baron Corbin picks up a rapid victory in a squad match before Samoa Joe is in action and he defeats Mike Rallis.

Bayley takes on Emma and picks up the victory thanks to the Hugplex. She then cut a promo after her win and told the fans that in order to become NXT Women’s Champion, she needs to beat the best woman on NXT; Charlotte.

The Vaudevillians continue their impressive run by picking up a victory over Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton.

The closing stages of the show see Balor and Owens come out to their contract signing segment and it ends with Owens flipping the table over which knocks down General Manager William Regal.

The champion and challenger brawl until Balor sends Owens retreating.

The second episode will air on July 29 and kicks off with tag team action. Enzo Amore and Big Cass losing to the team of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder thanks to a double team Codebreaker.

Another week, another squash match victory for Baron Corbin.

Jason Jordan looks to have found the right partner with Chad Gable as they picked up the win over Elias Samson and one of the new recruits, Manny Garcia in what is said to be a solid match.

After coming up short in her NXT Women’s Championship match this past week, Charlotte bounces back with a victory over Dana Brooke.

Kevin Owens then dominates in a squash match. He then hit a huge powerbomb on the apron before mocking Balor by posing like him before leaving.

In the main event The Vaudevillians finally got their NXT Tag Team Championship match, but were unable to dethrone Blake and Murphy.

The third episode will air on August 5 and kicks off with impressive divas action. Bayley defeats Charlotte by hitting a super Hugplex off the top rope.

For the third week in a row, Baron Corbin wins in another squash match. It’s good that he’s picking up wins, but there’s no real direction here.

A memorable segment next. After Tyler Breeze picks up the win over one of the new NXT recruits; he demands a challenge.

This results in William Regal coming out and announcing Breeze’s opponent for TakeOver – wrestling legend Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger!

Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder defeat Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder and that didn’t sit well with them, they attacked Rawley and Ryder after their match.

In the main event we get new theme music for Samoa Joe at last. He hit the Musclebuster on Rhyno for the victory.

The fourth and final taped episode will air on August 12 and we finally get Tye Dillinger debuting his new ‘perfect ten’ gimmick. He defeats Solomon Crowe in the opening match of the evening.

You guessed it. Four weeks, four squash victories for Baron Corbin. It’s being said that the fans were booing him but we finally got something at the end of the four weeks, Samoa Joe came out to face him.

Joe challenged him to a match but Corbin wasn’t having any of it. They then brawled until Joe locked in the rear naked choke.

Finn Balor defeated Marcus Louis as Kevin Owens attacked the champion after the match. This time it’s Owens who gets the upper hand by hitting the powerbomb on Balor before posing with the championship.

It’s the divas who main event this week of NXT. Bayley takes on Becky Lynch with the winner being crowned the number one contender to the NXT Women’s Championship, and it’s Bayley who will go on to face Sasha Banks.
