Filipe Luis is ready to accept a sizeable pay cut in order to end his nightmare at Chelsea and return to Atletico Madrid, according to The Times.
The Brazil international made the move to Stamford Bridge last summer after Atletico agreed to sell him for £15.8 million. He arrived just days after Diego Costa had made the same move.
However, while Costa went on to become a key player in Jose Mourinho's title-winning team last season, Luis remained very much on the periphery.

With Cesar Azpilicueta earning Mourinho's preference at left-back, Luis started just nine Premier League games last season and has told the Special One that he no longer wants to stay in west London.
He is so desperate to return to the Vicente Calderon that he has told Diego Simeone that he will agree to a pay cut to make sure a deal goes through.
Chelsea have already agreed a fee with Atletico for the transfer of Luis worth £10.5m, but Atletico will first have to sell Guilherme Siqueira to raise sufficient funds.
Luis, who starred for Brazil at the Copa America earlier this summer, will join a large group of established stars who have left Chelsea since Mourinho's return in 2013.
The Special One has allowed Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, Juan Mata and Petr Cech leave the club, in some cases allowing them to join Premier League rivals.
However, all these deals have served to benefit the Blues, evident from their runaway championship win in the Premier League last season.
Luis will go down as a failed signing for Mourinho, but he has made many more fruitful purchases in his second stint as Chelsea manager. Cesc Fabregas, Costa and Nemanja Matic have all proved to be astute additions.
It was earlier reported in the Guardian that Chelsea will launch a bid for Augsburg full-back Baba Rahman as soon as Luis leaves the club.
The Ghana international, 21, had a stellar debut season for the Bundesliga outfit and could cost the Blues as much as £17.5m.
Mourinho will attempt to lower the price by offering £14m but must be wary of both AS Roma and Juventus, who are both considering a move for Rahman as well.
Is Filipe Luis the worst signing Jose Mourinho has made since he returned to Chelsea?
