Paris Saint-Germain are determined to complete a deal for Angel di Maria before they face his current club Manchester United next week.
A report in today's Sun newspaper has claimed that officials from the Parc des Princes have been discussing a £52 million deal with United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward this week.
The story claims that PSG want the deal done and dusted before the two clubs meet in their pre-season match in Chicago on July 30, opening up the possibility of Di Maria playing against Manchester United.

Di Maria looks set to leave Old Trafford just one-year after arriving from Real Madrid in a British record £59.7m deal.
The Argentinian seemed to instantly settle into Premier League life, but became unsettled after his Cheshire home was subjected to a failed armed robbery.

His wife has never settled in Manchester and is desperate to leave. With their only child also struggling, it seems Di Maria has little choice but to call it quits.
The transfer fee
Louis van Gaal has told the player that he wants him to stay for at least one more season to try and make his record-breaking move a success, but has also said he will not stand in his way if PSG come calling with an acceptable offer.
£52m would be an attractive offer for Manchester United, allowing them to claw back almost all of their original outlay. With Di Maria another year old and his stock significantly depleted, a £7m loss will be considered more than acceptable.
They would also clear £280,000-a-week off the wage bill, freeing up the opportunity to tie flourishing members of the squad down to new contracts as well as freeing up funds to sign new stars.
Having played a pivotal role for Argentina in the Copa America, Di Maria is unlikely to play any part in either United's or PSG's tour of the USA, but Van Gaal has recently stated that he expects the 27-year-old to join up with the rest of the Red Devils squad in the coming days.
"He will come on July 25," the United manager said.
Manchester United could find themselves negotiating another deal with another fellow club currently touring the USA.
Barcelona star Pedro is currently in pre-season training and is expected to play a part when the La Liga champions take on United on July 25.
But Manchester United are seriously considering a move for Pedro as a replacement for Di Maria and have been tipped to meet his £22m release clause once the Argentine's exit is confirmed.
