Charlie Austin has been linked with just about every team in the Premier League so far this summer - the latest team to get involved is Aston Villa, who will have £32.5 million to spend after the sale of Christian Benteke.
The odds on Villa signing Austin reduced when the Benteke news filtered through to the footballing world. Villa are currently the second favourites with Newcastle United still in pole position to land the QPR striker.
Austin can do better than Villa. He needs to move to a team such as Newcastle United or a similar club because it's a team where he would be adored by his fans and not turned on if he misses a chance.

He is the perfect player for Newcastle as he is a traditional English number nine that they can worship. This should be the move he should take if he gets a choice.
Aston Villa is a bad move for him at this stage in his career. He has to be wise about what team he decides to join. He needs to join the team where he can either go on and do great things with if he decides to go there and stay there, or he needs to pick the team that will get the best out of him so that he can move on to an even bigger team should he please.

Newcastle would be a better move for Austin
I'm sorry to let all Villa fans know that Newcastle come out on top in both cases. They have the better squad and the better opportunity to give him service and help him score goals, plus they have an amazing club where should he choose to stay, he couldn't not be happy.
Alan Shearer did it and he doesn't regret a thing. Tim Krul is a goalkeeper who could probably do better than Newcastle if he wanted to but he has just reached ten years at St James' Park. That's just two players who have spent a great deal of time at the club.
There must be something in the air in Newcastle that players fall in love with and don't want to leave. Charlie Austin needs that stability in his career and he won't get that with Villa.
If Villa are offered good money for him, they will accept it no matter how valuable he is to them because they need the money. Newcastle don't need the money, they can afford to say no. If he comes to Newcastle and performs, it would take a ludicrous offer for Newcastle to accept.
His career will be more stable at Newcastle, he could get the opportunity to play in Europe with Newcastle. Even if after last season it doesn't look likely, there is a lot more chance of it happening at Newcastle than there is at Villa.
He needs to be wise with his decision and he needs to think very carefully about it.
