WWE: Five weird and incredible facts from Daniel Bryan's autobiography

Published Add your comment

Daniel Bryan has had one hell of a career, going from Indie regular to the most famous wrestler in the World.

Bryan entered the WWE as a part of the Nexus way back when they entered the picture that fateful night on RAW and caused complete havoc. He was fired the very next day.

And then he was back at SummerSlam after being re-hired by Vince McMahon, which proved to be a shrewd decision as he founded the 'Yes Movement' and riding it to becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Bryan is releasing his autobiography this week about his journey from a nobody to the best the WWE had to offer and it is full of incredible facts and stories from Bryan. We picked out five of the best here...

1) He nearly wrestled Charlie Sheen

Apparently, the WWE somehow managed to broker a deal with Sheen that would have seen him be paid millions of dollars to wrestle Bryan at WrestleMania in 2012, when Sheen was going through his very public breakdown.

This seems so incredibly dumb, but then you realize that this is the WWE we're talking about and they've had all manner of names wrestle at WrestleMania.

Unfortunately, Sheen backed out of it and Bryan would instead go on to face Kane, beating him.

2) Sex Shocker

Bryan and Brie Bella apparently became a couple after a friendship formed on the fact the two of them were pretty weird, we can thank Nikki Bella for that tidbit. However, their relationship didn't get off to the greatest start.

The first time Bryan tried to have sex with then-girlfriend, now-wife, Brie Bella, two fellow WWE superstars, Ted DiBiase Jr. and Sheamus, interrupted the moment. Sheamus apparently shouted "Ah fella!" at the top of his lungs before leaving the two to get to business.

3) Nearly Fighting Triple H

D.B is the most laid back wrestler on the entire WWE roster, well at least he normally is.

Bryan almost got into a fight with the company's COO, Triple H, after Hunter stopped a match against Randy Orton that Bryan was supposed to win before getting injured.

"Usually I don't get super angry, and when I do it's barely visible. This time, I was furious and I let everyone know it," Bryan said in the book.

"When I walked through the curtain, I yelled, 'What the f--- is that all about. That's f---ing bull----!' 'You need to calm down,' responded Triple H, who had been communicating with the doctor over the headset and called for the match to be stopped," he added. "'No, you need to calm the f--- down,' I replied. We were up in each other's faces and both ready to fight."

4) Vince Hates Vegans

Vince McMahon was never the biggest fan of Bryan, thanks to his limited stature and less than ideal looks needed in someone who is going to be the face of the company. Oh and also because Bryan was a vegan.

"My first NXT match against Chris Jericho went really well and when Chris got to the back, he expressed to Vince McMahon what a great job I'd done," Bryan wrote in the book.

Apparently the response from McMahon was one of disgust, as Vince responded almost in disgust, a grunting and then saying, 'Him? He doesn't even eat meat!' "

5) Lloyd Boner

Daniel Bryan's real name is Bryan Danielson, which the WWE didn't fancy using for him, Danielson is a bit of a mouthful and it's harder to copyright someone's actual name.

So Bryan was told to come up with some suggestions of what his name would be. He came up with three suggestions: Daniel Bryan, Buddy Peacock, and Lloyd Boner. Yes, you read that right, LLOYD BONER! Thank God for common sense.
