Any Arsenal fan on GiveMeSport yesterday would have probably seen a rather intriguing story about Arsene Wenger's top secret striker signing.
El Confidencial journalist Kiki Marin said the Arsenal manager was still hoping to sign Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, but had an alternative lined up in case the move failed.
The identity of that striker was 'top secret' according to Marin and did not look like being revealed any time soon, but everything has now changed.

Hungry for social media engagement, Marin decided to reveal the identity of the once top secret striker. That striker is Robert Lewandowski.
So, first Marin tweeted this:
And then he tweeted this:
And then less than two days later he tweeted this:
The reason it is such an exciting claim is because Marin has been something of a transfer guru with regards to Arsenal over the last two seasons.
He was one of the first to report on Mesut Ozil's move from Real Madrid in 2013 and, last summer, also revealed that Sami Khedira's move to the Gunners had fallen through thanks to the German's wage demands.
However, the idea that Lewandowski would be a second-choice for Arsenal is scarcely believable, not only because Bayern Munich would be reluctant to sell, but because the Poland international is also less likely to move to north London than Benzema.
Signing of the summer
But there are plenty of murmurs around Twitter that Arsenal are indeed ready to complete a sensational deal. Another reliable sources, Muzzi Ozcan, has previously claimed Wenger is working on the 'signing of the summer'.
Ozcan, who has links to Arsenal's Olivier Giroud, has been rather impressive in this summer transfer window, naming a number of summer signings before they have been announced.
Unfortunately, Ozcan is much better at keeping secrets that Marin and has yet to reveal to identity of this mystery man.
Chalk and cheese
It is also worth mentioning that Marin, who, I might remind you, has just claimed Arsenal are targeting one of the best strikers in the world as a back-up option, also dismissed claims that thet were interested in Barcelona youngster Sergi Samper.
Would Robert Lewandowski ever join Arsenal?
