Cesaro revealed his WWE World Heavyweight Championship aspirations in recent interview with Michael Cole.
The Swiss Sensation is currently one of the most praised superstars in the WWE at the moment thanks to his recent brilliant matches with John Cena and Kevin Owens.
During the interview, Cole referred to Vince McMahon’s appearance of the Stone Cold podcast with Stone Cold Steve Austin, when he said Cesaro lacked the charisma to connect with the WWE audience.

Cole asked The King of Swing what he thought when he heard this.
He said: “To be honest, I was driving to the next town and I was white knuckling the steering wheel! But then I thought about it, slept on it, the next morning I came to Raw, walked into Mr McMahon’s office and looked him in the eye and said, ‘Vince, challenge accepted’.
“Two months and 22 days later, I and Tyson won the tag team championship. To me, that’s the best way to go about things.”
He certainly has taken the challenge with both hands, winning the WWE tag team championship, and has thrived with the opportunity to wrestle in single competitions since his tag team partner Tyson Kidd got injured.
This challenge, of course, is reaching for the brass ring that McMahon talked about in the Stone Cold podcast. When you grasp this ring, in other words connect with the audience and achieve the highest success in the WWE, from being just an ordinary wrestler to a WWE Legend.
Cole then talks about how Cesaro is on this journey towards this brass ring and how recently he’s been having some great matches with Cena, with one of the matches actually being called a ‘Match of the Year’ candidate.
He also talks about The Swiss Sensation’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship hopes.
Cesaro said: “Everybody wants to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. It’s so important for me because I want to prove I’m the best, and if you're not here to prove that then you're here for the wrong reasons…
“Every single time I step into the ring, I deliver.”
I really do hope Cesaro is given the opportunity in the main event title picture because a wrestler of his ability deserves it.
The problem with WWE though is sometimes they don’t see this and they bury a superstar whilst he is receiving a lot of praise by the WWE Universe, killing all of their momentum built up to that moment.
Cesaro goes up against Seth Rollins on SmackDown this week in what I have heard is a fantastic match and definitely one to watch. Rollins in-ring work is brilliant too and he should have a good dynamic with the King of Swing.
If you’ve been watching Cesaro lately though, you don’t need me to tell you this is a ‘must-see’ match and a 'one-of-a-kind' superstar.
