This past week at Battleground, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins came to a surprising end when The Undertaker made his return to the WWE.

This was his first appearance since defeating Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 31 and his second since the streak ended at the hands of Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX.

The two are now set to have their highly anticipated rematch at next month’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.

But this may not be the final time they meet, with The Undertaker set to gain a victory over The Beast Incarnate.

BATTLEGROUND RETURN

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE have plans for The Undertaker and Lesnar to meet on one more occasion following SummerSlam.

The first clash takes place at SummerSlam, which came to fruition following The Undertaker’s return at Battleground where he pulled out with a heel tactic by hitting Lesnar with a low blow.

Fans didn’t really seem to care as to who was playing the role of the face and the heel.

The following night on Raw, fans witnessed an incredible brawl. Kicking off in the middle of the ring before taking it backstage with security and plenty of other WWE superstars getting involved to separate the two.

Triple H then confirmed the match for SummerSlam.

THE UNDERTAKER VS. BROCK LESNAR III?

Meltzer has noted that the WWE want the two to clash at SummerSlam before one final battle at WrestleMania 32.

This now raises the question, should The Undertaker defeat Lesnar at SummerSlam? Or should they wait until 2016 to have The Deadman finally defeat The Beast?

Either way The Undertaker is getting a victory over Brock Lesnar. It probably does make sense for The Undertaker to defeat Lesnar at SummerSlam which sets up a rubber match between the two in Texas.

“Undertaker is scheduled to get his win back, but the question is whether it’ll be now, or if it’ll be saved for WrestleMania.” - Dave Meltzer.

Meltzer isn’t the only one who has had his say. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross noted on his official website that Lesnar and The Undertaker should clash at SummerSlam as well as WrestleMania 32.

Ross predicts that The Undertaker will lose at SummerSlam next month, before going on to defeat Lesnar at WrestleMania – with the event only a few hours from his hometown – and he’ll then retire and be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE DEADMAN?

It can be argued that another loss to Lesnar at SummerSlam means Lesnar will have no reason to battle The Undertaker again. Lesnar being the mercenary he is and the epic rivalry he has with The Undertaker, he will probably want to be the one to stick the final nail in the coffin at WrestleMania 32.

It does sound like a good plan. The Undertaker won’t stick around for many more years so this feels like it will be The Undertaker’s last ride in the WWE which is why he’s sticking around now and he’ll even be competing at live events in Mexico.

This could be the perfect setting for The Deadman. Taking on Lesnar now with the possibility of finally battling it out with Sting at Survivor Series could set up one final run towards WrestleMania season.
