Just over a year on from the destruction of The Shield, this article is going to take a look into how Roman Reigns career has progressed after leaving the group.
A little over a year ago, the night after Payback Seth Rollins turned on his Shield brothers, attacking them both with a chair, joining Triple H and The Authority. Roman Reigns seemed to come out of this the worst to begin with.
Over the first few months after The Shield split there wasn't much to be heard about Roman Reigns, he was involved in matches here and there.

He was eventually thrown into a feud with Big Show, although this didn't provide us with anything at all entertaining apart from a few amusing comments from Reigns.
However, despite his lack of a major storyline the fans seemed to really be getting behind Reigns, as he was constantly receiving one of the biggest pops of any superstars in the locker room when he came down to the ring, but this all changed quite quickly.
At Royal Rumble, most fans went into the event wanting Reigns or Ambrose to come out victorious, however the vast majority of fans still wanted Daniel Bryan to win and main event WrestleMania.
This was something we saw the year before, after Daniel Bryan was eliminated from the rumble the crowd turned on all of the superstars, with the best example being Batista.
After Bryan was eliminated from the 2015 Rumble, the crowd once again turned on the wrestlers. With one of the most notable turns being against Roman Reigns, with the fans feeling that Bryan was more deserving of a 'push' than Reigns.
After winning the Rumble, Reigns was surrounded by a chorus of boo's, quickly going from one of the companies most popular stars to one of their most hated.
I thought that this may have just been a one night thing however it quickly became apparent that this wasn't the case.
WWE panicked and looked like they were going to reverse their decision after setting up a match between Bryan and Reigns at Fastlane to decide who would go on to main event WrestleMania against Brock Lesnar.
As we all know, Reigns was victorious in this match, and went on to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Many fans questioned this decision at the time, thinking that Reigns wasn't good enough to be in that spot.
These same fans thought they had been proven right when less than a minute into the match Lesnar had already hit Reigns with a F5.
However, Reigns managed to fight his way back into the match and provided what was one of the best matches of the year, never once backing away from Lesnar.
It would also be hard to argue with the point that Reigns would have most likely walked out of Levi Stadium champion if it wasn't for the interference of Seth Rollins.
Since that night Reigns has had one more shot at the title, and should have won the Money in the Bank ladder match if it wasn't for Bray Wyatt.
Now Reigns is locked in a rivalry with Wyatt for the next couple of months, which doesn't really seem to be going anywhere quickly, however he has still been quite successful since the group broke up.
