Ever since Angel di Maria left European giants Real Madrid for Manchester United in a record breaking transfer last summer, the Argentinian star has struggled to find his best form, prompting rumours about him possibly leaving Old Trafford this month.
Despite not quite hitting the standards he set at Real Madrid, especially during their Champions league winning campaign, the 27 year-old wasn't that bad and could be seen as harshly criticised by the English media during what was a difficult season for the whole Manchester United team.
He crafted the joint-third most amount assists in the Premier league with ten, one more than player of the year Eden Hazard and two more than Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, playing behind struggling strikers Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao.

He also missed huge parts of the season through injury, making it hard for him to find any consistency and form.
Also, the winger was under increased pressure all season due to his huge price tag of just under 60 million but next season things could be different.
United unlikely to sell?
Although he's been linked away from the club over the past couple of weeks, it is unlikely he'll be leaving any time soon due to the money paid to bring him to England just under a year ago.
And with manager Louis van Gaal investing heavily again this summer in more attacking talent such as Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger and a new striker set to follow, the pressure is likely to be off Di Maria, giving him the chance to find his form and show the Premier league the real player he is.
Like most world class players, Di Maria is at his best when playing alongside better players and this is likely to be the case this upcoming season in a Manchester United team ready to battle on all fronts.
He is capable of playing either wide or centrally behind the striker and has a super burst of pace as well as fantastic skilled dribbling.
Di Maria can still shine at United
Wearing the iconic number seven shirt at United, he is still the closest thing the club have had to departed legend Cristiano Ronaldo, a player the fans have craved returning to Old Trafford ever since his big money move to Di Maria's former club, Real Madrid.
On form, he is right up there with the likes of Eden Hazard and Sergio Aguero as one of the best players in the Premier league, he just needs a run of games without injury and bad form.
With a new world class striker set to join this summer added onto the quality already at Manchester United, if Di Maria can return to his former self, then Van Gaal's side have a huge chance at lifting the Premier league title this season.
