WWE needs to do something to get people interested again, and The Rock is the answer. Here's why.
1. More WWE Network Subscribers
Think about that, upon his return at Mania' 31, fans were left hungry for more so, if they get him to return for next years show of shows, then people will be dying to see the People's Champ.
Well, the only way to see him is the WWE Network.

2. Improve Raw Ratings
Everyone loves free entertainment. But, when it comes from "the most electrifying man in sports entertainment" himself, it's must-see.
From the "Rock Concerts" to the interviews backstage, The Rock can electrify like nobody else.
3. Break Attendance Records
Every big WWE fan knows by now that next years WrestleMania is in Dallas at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The stadium itself holds, 80,000 people, so WWE has the chance to make history and break the all-time outdoor attendance record.
So, you know Vince McMahon will want to make the card as star-studded as possible. The Rock is one of, if not the most popular superstar in history, so people will most definitely want to be there to see him as it could wind up being his last match in WWE.
4. Huge Boost
It doesn't matter who his opponent is, they will get a huge push, being in a storyline with the "Great One". Obviously, The Rock would be the companies biggest babyface, so putting him up against a heel would be a great way to have them make a face-turn once the match is over.
Seth Rollins is by far the companies biggest heel right now, but a match with him would be unlikely to happen, as he is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
He is also unlikely to lose the title until WrestleMania anyway, and with The Rock's busy Hollywood schedule, he wouldn't be able to appear on television week after week.
