Last month 2K announced the next instalment of the popular video game series with Stone Cold Steve Austin announced as the cover star of WWE 2K16.
He follows in the footsteps of current WWE United States Champion John Cena, who graced the 2K15 cover.
No game modes or features have been announced as of yet for the game, but as per usual 2K should be releasing more details and superstars towards the SummerSlam festivities.

The first six names for the upcoming video game were revealed during the announcement. Joining Austin are the likes of Finn Balor, Bad News Barrett, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan and Paige.
And earlier this week 2K revealed the next set of superstars for the game but their announcement was overshadowed by a racism incident which shocked the WWE Universe.
Here are the next set of names that have been announced for WWE 2K16.
ANDRE THE GIANT
Another legend announced for the game is Andre the Giant. Andre will be a playable character once more after missing out on appearing in last year’s video game.
His inclusion shows that that the 2K developers are really focusing on a number of legends to make up the roster.
A superstar who was never going to miss out. The Rock was the cover star for WWE 2K14 and is definitely one of the more popular stars in the game.
It remains to be seen which version of The Rock we will see, but we can still expect him to have one of the higher ratings in the video game.
It’s certainly an interesting choice to reveal right now. It could be a way of keeping fans on the edge of their seats as bigger names continued to be revealed but for now the Eva Marie is one of three divas announced for the game.
She may not be the best in-ring worker right now but the fact that 2K have made her into a playable superstar shows that they really will be making the largest roster ever.
Just like The Rock, Triple H is another huge yet expected addition to the video game.
We can expect to see the current Authority version of The Game as 2K revealed only one version of each superstar will be in the game, and another high rating is on the cards.
Another interesting name to reveal. Alexa Bliss is currently teaming with the NXT Tag Team Champions Blake & Murphy.
This is probably something NXT fans will be more excited by, but again it shows that by including Bliss anticipation will continue to build towards the other NXT announcements.
With Bliss in the game, other NXT stars will definitely be included such as Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin and potentially Samoa Joe.
HULK HOGAN ANNOUNCED BUT DROPPED FROM THE GAME
The sixth name that 2K had announced for the game was none other than Hulk Hogan.
Racism claims spread like wildfire a couple of days ago and the WWE have released Hogan and he has been completely wiped from WWE.com and the WWE have told their partners to drop Hogan from any of their merchandising.
“We are highly respectful of the way that our partners choose to run their business and manage our partnerships accordingly. We can confirm that Hulk Hogan will not appear in WWE 2K16.” – 2K Sports
His excommunication from 2K is the latest news to tarnish the Hogan legacy and we can expect this situation to continue to spiral in the coming weeks.
As for the video game, fans will continue to remain excited as over 100 superstars are still yet to be announced.
