Mohamed Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, has dropped the biggest hint yet that the Chelsea winger will be joining AS Roma this summer, after posting the Italian side’s emblem on his Twitter page.
Salah has been widely tipped to return to Serie A before the start of next season, with Jose Mourinho confirming at the weekend that the player wouldn’t be featuring for his Blues side this campaign.
The 23-year-old impressed whilst on loan at Fiorentina last term, and La Viola were keen on keeping him on board.

However, it’s become apparent in recent weeks that Salah has other options on the table. Mourinho mentioned the likes of Roma, Inter Milan and Juventus when he said his piece on the Egypt international, with the first of those clubs repeatedly mentioned in connection.
Agent stokes the flames
Now, Salah’s agent has stoked the fire of speculation by posting a picture of Roma’s emblem on his Twitter page. It’s far from official confirmation that a deal has been brokered, but it certainly leans towards the idea that the Stadio Olimpico is where the player will end up.
Previous reports have suggested that Salah’s season-long spell away from Chelsea could conclude with a permanent deal being settled upon.
If that’s the case it’s believed a figure of around £16million will be enough for Mourinho to consider selling him, though that would obviously depend on the player impressing his new club.
In any case Blues fans might be of the opinion that Salah hasn’t been given a proper chance at Stamford Bridge. After moving from FC Basel he was offered a handful of first-team appearances, but Mourinho seems to have settled on the stance that he needs more experience before he’s ready for a top club with top ambitions.
That’s all well and good when he’s being farmed out in a bid to collect that experience, but if Salah’s sold permanently then Chelsea might be left to rue what might have been.
The winger have proven in the past that he possesses excellent ability when on form, and perhaps realising that form for the Blues is something that only needs a little more time.
