Heldt: Boulahrouz is a leader

Stuttgart general manager Horst Heldt has rubbished claims new signing Khalid Boulahrouz could be a bad influence on the team.

The deal marks a return to the Bundesliga for the Holland international, who plied his trade for Hamburg before sealing a move to Chelsea but his time at Hamburg ended on a sour note after he was accused of feigning injury ahead of a Champions League qualifier so that he would be able play in the competition for the Blues.

Heldt told the Stuttgarter Zeitung: "I have spoken to him about what happened at Hamburg and there are different versions. Only those involved at the time know what really happened so we should not rush into making judgements."
