According to the same source, City and Inter are yet to fully agree on a transfer fee, but it's believed to be around the £10million mark, meaning the Premier League side will make a £12m loss on the forward.
City splashed out £22m on signing Jovetic from Fiorentina two years ago, but due to serious injuries and competition for places, the 25-year-old has failed to impress at the Etihad Stadium.

Competing with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo and more recently Wilfried Bony has left Jovetic on the sidelines for the majority of his time in England, and he's now ready to complete a move back to Italy, where he initially built his reputation.
During Jovetic's two seasons in England, he only managed 39 appearances for the Citizens and he is now desperate to leave the club and resurrect his career back in Serie A.
Liverpool and Inter Interest
The Montenegro international was initially wanted by Premier League side Liverpool, but after Brendan Rodgers brought in Danny Ings from Burnley and Christian Benteke from Aston Villa, the Reds cooled their interest in the striker.
Busy Summer at San Siro
The Italian manager has already been active in the transfer window, signing Martin Montoya from FC Barcelona, Miranda from Atletico Madrid and Geoffrey Kondogbia from AS Monaco. However, Mancini admitted his attentions are now focused on adding strikers to the squad as they only currently have two.
Didier Drogba had been linked as he is currently a free-agent, but it looks like he is nearing a move to the MLS, whilst Ivan Perisic remains a key target for the Serie A side.
