Luis replacement found
Kicking off today’s report we head to Italy, via talkSPORT, where speculation is insisting that Chelsea are in advanced talks with Galatasaray full-back Alex Telles.
With Filipe Luis destined to leave the club for Atletico Madrid Jose Mourinho seemingly wants another left-sided defender, and Telles appears to be his man.
The report in question states that both Inter Milan and Juventus are also keen admirers of the 22-year-old Brazilian, hence the fact that the rumours are to be found in Italy, but it’s reported that the Blues have stolen pole position and are sitting pretty.
As one might expect Telles is keen to push for a move to the Premier League, despite the fact that his contract with Gala doesn’t run out until 2018, though where this leaves Chelsea’s supposed pursuit of FC Augsburg’s Baba Rahman is anyone’s guess.
Moving on it looks as though Mourinho’s mind-games have started early this year, with the Special One suggesting that Arsene Wenger has purchased a squad capable of winning the Premier League.
Mourinho said that if you buy Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers then there could be a ‘surprise’. It’s needless to say Arsenal fans have been quick to vent their reactions on Twitter.
Hazard > Ronaldo
Last but not least the last piece of today focuses once more on Chelsea’s beloved gaffer. This time we’re sticking with quotes from Mourinho that surfaced last night, claiming that Eden Hazard had a better year than Cristiano Ronaldo last term because he won a trophy.
We’re not sure we agree with you there Mourinho, as Ronaldo did enjoy his best personal season to date. Each to their own though, right?
