Liverpool have entered talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the possibility of striking a deal for French utility man Lucas Digne, or so reports say.
The Daily Mail today relays how the Reds have been in correspondence with their Ligue 1 counterparts over striking a deal for Digne, although Laurent Blanc is believed to be keen to retain his services in the French capital.
Digne move on?
Only last week did rumours infer that the youngster was interested in leaving PSG for pastures new, and a move to Merseyside with Liverpool on the up and up would certainly be of interest.

With that in mind it’s unsurprising that Brendan Rodgers has looked to act on the situation, holding talks with PSG in a bid to determine whether a deal is at all possible.
Though the report in question doesn’t categorically dismiss or bolster the rumour either way, it certainly seems as though proceedings are heading in the right direction if you’re a Liverpool fan.
Having signed for PSG in 2013, Digne has proven himself useful to Blanc without ever being a regular starter. The 22-year-old can operate both in midfield and in defence, and it’s believed Rodgers wants him as competition for Alberto Moreno for the left-back berth, with Jose Enrique no longer having a future at Anfield.
Since he’s featured for the France international setup at every level from U16 through to the senior squad - he’s amassed eight caps for the latter - it can be assumed he has enough experience to be able to be of use to Rodgers, who is himself facing a defining campaign.
The addition of Digne would serve as the latest in a string of signings Liverpool have made ahead a campaign wherein they are looking to climb back into the top four.
Danny Ings, Christian Benteke, James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne are the notable arrivals thus far, and the purchase of another defender, especially one who can also do a job in midfield, looks to be smart business.
Of course irrespective of Rodgers’ longing to sign Digne he’ll now have to convince Blanc to part ways with the young Frenchman.
The PSG boss is currently preoccupied with landing Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria, and unless he decides he can live without the potential Digne has for the future, the deal looks a non-starter, no matter how much Liverpool want him.
