If this is not enough to excite both WWE and Arnie fans, they have also produced a mode which means those playing will be in control of the T-800; the robotic killing machine from both The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day movies.
It is clear that this development is something WWE wanted to push greatly as a company, with the brand new game being released in October 2015, being available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Vice president of marketing at 2K Chris Snyder, had the following to say about the inclusion of Schwarzenegger within the game:
"Arnold Schwarzenegger is a living legend with universal appeal, a perseverance for greatness and a strong relationship with WWE, including his recent Hall of Fame induction, all of which make him an incredible fit for WWE 2K16."
"He’s a force to be reckoned with and defines what it means to raise some hell. Through his WWE 2K16 pre-order inclusion, fans simply can’t beat the opportunity to play as the Terminator in a WWE ring."
As it is only possible to have Arnie as a playable character if the game is pre-ordered, it is clear what the intentions of both 2K and WWE are.
Having a Hollywood great and prominent WWE celebrity as this extra surely means that many WWE fans worldwide will be set on pre-ordering 2K16 to ensure they can experience this exciting addition.
As for Schwarzenegger himself, when asked what the regular WWE superstars' chances were against the might of the Terminator himself, he said:
"Match the Terminator against Stone Cold Steve Austin, Seth Rollins or Daniel Bryan, and there’s only one possible outcome: Hasta la vista, baby!"
Alongside the announcement, a video trailer was released which depicts a number of WWE superstars joining Schwarzenegger in acting out an iconic scene to promote the news.
