Luis' replacement sourced
With Chelsea and Atletico Madrid doing business regarding Filipe Luis for the second summer in a row Jose Mourinho has been left one full-back short, and he’s none too happy about it.
Well, maybe he is happy since he sold Luis after one season for close to the amount he paid for him, but all the same it’s claimed he is looking for a replacement.
Actually we should say found a replacement, with The Sun stating this morning that he’s ready to pay £7million for Galatasaray left-back Alex Telles.
The Brazilian could make for a useful backup at just 22-years-of-age, although Mourinho might yet turn his attention back to Baba Rahman of FC Augsburg.
The African defender is another credible candidate for playing in the reserve role behind Cesar Azpilicueta, although it’s highly likely he’ll cost far more than £7m due to his importance within his current club’s fold.
Elsewhere Francesc Fabregas might be a Blue but he’s still in love with Arsenal. Well, sort of. The former Gunners midfielder has revealed he maintains a love for the club that can’t be tarnished by the abuse he gets from north London fans.
Talk about dedication to a cause, although it’s him sitting pretty at the moment having become a Chelsea player and won the Premier League during his first season with the club.
Kenedy to Chelsea
Wrapping up our roundup we can offer an update on Jose Mourinho’s longing to sign Brazilian starlet Kenedy.
For some time now it’s looked like a deal is more of a formality than a possibility, but the youngster is facing issues over a work-permit. Mourinho today admitted that he wants to finalise the transfer as soon as possible.
