Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer believes Jurgen Klinsmann will send out a signal of the club´s intentions for the coming season when he names his first captain at the Allianz Arena.
Oliver Kahn has worn the armband since 2002, but his retirement at the end of last season has left a key vacancy to be filled.
"Although [whoever captains the side] will not decide the title, it still sends out a signal," Beckenbauer told the Bild newspaper.
