Fixtures for Rugby League's Super League's 'Super 8s' were announced at 10am today after the final matches of the regular season took place last weekend.

Current champions St Helens start with a trip to France to face Catalan Dragons on Saturday 8 August and end with two home Friday evening matches at Langtree Park against rivals Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves.

League leaders Leeds Rhinos begin their Super 8s campaign by hosting Warrington, though as league leaders have been given what should be a favourable end to the season with ties against Castleford Tigers at home and Huddersfield Giants away.

However, the Rhinos did fail to win either of the same matches during the regular season.

Third placed Wigan confirmed that their home fixture against Catalan will be played at The Den in London as the club attempts to market itself to a broader audience.

Warriors Chairman Ian Lenagan told the club's website: "The benefits that this will bring will benefit everyone involved with Wigan in the medium to long term, allowing us to further invest in the best facilities, outstanding fan experiences and our playing squad."

Catalan Dragons will be hoping to make their home advantage count during their trio of matches in France, yet will require something from their four fixtures in England at Huddersfield, Wigan, Warrington and Hull if the Dragons wish to push up the table.

It was also announced this morning that the World Club Series is set to return with the league leaders, Challenge Cup winners and Grand Final champions all taking part.

This year's play-off's will be held over the weekend of 3-4 October with the First Utility Grand Final taking place on 10 October at Old Trafford.
