The Seattle Seahawks are learning the hard way that, when you achieve success with a roster made up of players few others took a chance on, you eventually have to pay the price.
And with the likes of Russell Wilson, Kam Chancellor, Michael Bennett , Bobby Wagner and Bruce Irvin all looking for new or improved deals following two straight trips to the Super Bowl, that price could be pretty hefty for the Seattle franchise.
It is quarterback Wilson's soon to be expired contract that has drawn much of the headlines this offseason, but Seahawks fans will be worried to learn today that one fellow star is giving serious consideration to holding out from training camp in order to force through a bumper contract.

As reported by NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Seattle safety, Kam Chancellor, is threatening to stay away from the Seahawks facility when the team returns this week:
Rapoport also noted that Bennett - just 12 months into an improved contract - is also considering holding out. He did though note that the defensive end was a "better candidate to show up."
With the Seahawks front office already struggling to broker a deal with Russell Wilson, throwing another restless star name into the mix isn't exactly ideal as Pete Carroll looks to prepare his roster for the 2015 NFL season.
Kam Chancellor's current deal, signed in 2013, isn't set to expire until 2017 and he will earn just over $4.5 million in 2015. But, after once again showing himself to be a standout member of Seattle's notorious 'Legion of Boom' in 2014, the three-time Pro Bowler is looking for a pay rise.
With fellow secondary star, Earl Thomas, still recovering from injury, it is likely Chancellor sees missing camp as his opportunity to really highlight his worth to the franchise.
Whether he carries out the threat, only time will tell. But with camp beginning this Friday Kam Chancellor's teammate, Bruce Irvin, has had his say on what should happen next.
