WWE are wasting Kevin Owens and Cesaro in this pointless rivalry

Published 2 Comments

Over recent weeks we have witnessed both Kevin Owens and Cesaro have had some amazing battles with John Cena, leaving fans wondering what WWE were going to do with these two, now we know.

Latest Interview

In a recent interview over on wwe.com, Owens first talked about Cole's biased commentary and how he mentioned Cena's broken nose 15 times during his match with Rollins, however when Owens was fighting with a broken nose he didn't mention it once.

However this wasn't the most interesting part of the interview, Owens then went on to talk about his 'issue' with Cesaro. When Cole asked him what his problem with the 'Swiss Superman' was , Owens said that Cesaro had no right to partake in Cena's open challenge as hew was already fighting to win the title.

New Rivalry

So now we have a rivalry between these two. Now firstly I want to say that I think a fight between these two (and that is exactly what this would be) would be absolutely amazing. The match would most likely be one of the best of the year however I feel that WWE are wasting these two superstars.

Owens has just come away from his rivalry with Cena, which produced some amazing battles. This led most of us to think that WWE were going to be putting Owens into another leading rivalry however this doesn't seem to be the case.

Cesaro is coming off the back of a very successful tag team run which ended early because of Tyson Kidd's injury. He hasn't had a singles rivalry for a while so we were all looking forward to seeing what WWE were going to do with him.

Waste of Talent

WWE seem to be struggling for talent to fight for their titles right now. John Cena has been drafted in to fight for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship because all of the other top tier talent are tied up in pointless rivalries.

You look at Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, who are both stuck in a rivalry with Bray Wyatt. Although this rivalry will produce some entertaining matches, they could use two other superstars rather than Reigns and Ambrose to battle Wyatt while he reconstructs his family.

Back to Cesaro and Owens, both of these stars are worthy of a title, however with the current state of WWE titles there isn't anything for them to fight for.

I think that Cena should drop the US title to Cesaro, freeing him up to go for the World Title, and unless Ryback can recover from his injury soon I feel like he should be stripped of the title, so that we can see it back on programming, because we have barely seen the title since Wrestlemania.

I think if WWE scrap The Miz/Ryback rivalry and the Cesaro/Owens rivalry you can then have Owens and Cesaro pick up the titles, and make the shows more interesting.

What do you guys think? Should WWE push on with this rivalry or are they making a mistake?
