Jol wants to keep van der Vaart

Hamburg coach Martin Jol insists Rafael van der Vaart will not be leaving the club this summer.

The Holland midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Spain, England and Italy after impressing in the Bundesliga last season.

But Jol, who has taken over from Huub Stevens at the HSV-Arena, is adamant the 25-year-old is staying put. The former Tottenham boss told Die Welt: "Everyone knows how important Van der Vaart is for this team. I am planning with him. He plays a major role in our set-up."
