Liverpool are willing to listen to offers for Mario Balotelli, and will sell the Italian if a potential suitor offers a reasonable price this summer.
That’s according to ESPN, who say their sources have been told the Anfield club are ready to let the striker go after a single season of having him in their squad. Recent reports have it pegged that a number of clubs in Italy are interested, though no official bid has been made.
Interest in Balotelli high
Serie A side Sampdoria and newly-promoted Bologna have both expressed an enthusiasm with regards to signing Balotelli, with the latter’s director of sport having yesterday confirmed he would buy the 24-year-old if it was for the right price.

Indeed money appears to be the central axis the Merseyside forward’s career is spinning on at the moment, with a deal there to be done by anyone willing to stump up the necessary sum.
ESPN’s latest piece details how Lazio may well have put themselves in pole position, and if that’s true it might well be simply a matter of time before he moves to pastures new.
Having managed to find the back of the net just four times in all competitions last term Balotelli, who takes home a reported £80,000-a-week, is far from a coveted asset at Anfield, and the arrivals of Danny Ings, Robert Firmino and Christian Benteke this summer have done little to assure him of his long-term future with the club.
On top of the increased competition that has surfaced as a result of Brendan Rodgers’ activity in the transfer market, Liverpool also have Daniel Sturridge to return from a troublesome injury. In short, Balotelli’s chances don’t look good.
Balotelli to push for a move?
As a result it might be wise for him to take his leave before his reputation can be damaged further.
Though the admirable path to take is one that sees him stay in the north of England and slog it out, Balotelli is in danger of seeing his potential slowly pulled out from underneath him on the Liverpool bench, and a return to Serie A - where he’s proven himself effective in the past - might remedy that particular ailment.
