Gallette was ousted by the Saints less than 12 months after signing a bumper contract extension after a number of issues arose.
At the turn of the year the OL was involved in allegations of domestic violence, whilst a video, allegedly showing Gallette hitting a woman with a belt during a melee at a beach resort, surfaced this summer.
In the locker room there has been cause for concern too with the Saints reportedly unhappy with the former team captain's conduct in 2014. Indeed, the player himself launched a scathing attack on his former coaches and teammates after his release last week and current New Orleans players have criticized Gallette's lack of work ethic.
Taking a chance
With Washington having allowed the previously franchise tagged Brian Orakpo to leave this offseason they are in need of some experience at the offensive linebacker position.
Junior Gallette would undoubtedly be a huge upgrade on the field compared to youngsters Trent Murphy and Preston Smith who are currently in line to start.
Whether the Redskins can be convinced the ex-Saint won't cause unwanted controversy and unrest however is another matter. With team officials meeting with the player today it looks like we will have a better idea by the weekend.
