A True Great
WWE chairman Vince McMahon was the first to make a statement, calling the enigmatic Canadian one of the best to ever do it.
"Roddy Piper was one of the most entertaining, controversial and bombastic performers ever in WWE, beloved my millions of fans around the world," said McMahon. "I extend my deepest condolences to his family."
John Cena was one of many current day WWE stars who paid their respects to Piper, saying that he was one of the greats of all time, while Chris Jericho took to Instagram to post a picture of himself with Rowdy Roddy.
Edge even went as far as to reveal that he still owned a Hot Rod shirt that he bought as a kid.
"Grew up a fan(still have my Hot Rod shirt), became a colleague, and most importantly, became a friend. Bagpipes are playing #RIPHotRod," the Rated-R Superstar tweeted out, while fellow Hall of Famer Howard Finkel also paid his respects.
Roddy Piper touched so many hearts that he could never possibly be forgotten.
Rest In Peace, Hot Rod.
