Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has laid into Arsenal in an interview published in the Daily Telegraph, writing off their chances of winning the Premier League title.

Keane, who's battles with Arsenal on the pitch and particular Patrick Vieira are now legendary, claimed that although Arsene Wenger's team contain good players, a section of them care more about taking selfies, their six packs and their hair than winning football matches.

Keane attack

“There’s too many Arsenal players interested in selfies, I think, whatever they are...Instead of focusing on winning Premier League titles, it’s all about how their bodies look, how their hair is, more so than winning football matches, which is the way things are going,” Keane said.

Wenger has not yet added significantly to his unit through the summer though, with goalkeeper Petr Cech the one notable addition. So could it simply be consistency they are lacking? Or do they need to put down their combs and phones.

Previous to last season their defence was their Achilles heel, but this was addressed last term, where they conceded just 36 goals, a record bettered only by champions Chelsea and Southampton.

A goal scoring return of 71 was also an impressive third best in the league, just two fewer than Jose Mourinho's title winners.

So are Arsenal ready to really challenge for the ultimate prize or is Keane accurate in his assessment that they are just show ponies? Let us know in the comments box below.
