Schweinsteiger: I was wrong to react

Bastian Schweinsteiger has admitted he had earned his red card in Germany´s shock defeat to Croatia.

The midfielder, a second-half substitute, became the first player to be sent off at Euro 2008 for a push on Jerko Leko in the closing stages of Germany´s 2-1 defeat.

The Bayern Munich man told the German FA´s official website: "The sending off is of course frustrating. But I felt a sharp pain after the kick from behind on my already damaged ankle and then reacted incorrectly."
