Arsene Wenger has brushed off criticism of his side following the 1-0 win against Chelsea yesterday.

Jose Mourinho accused the Gunners of leaving their philosophy in the dressing room at Wembley and adopting a counter attacking approach that saw them have every player behind the ball.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's left-footed strike gave Arsenal a lead that they held onto with some good defending and organisation.

Wenger himself has said he is extremely proud of the way side performed in the traditional curtain raiser.

The relationship between Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger shows no sign of improving following yesterdays match.

Wenger and Mourinho appeared to ignore each other yesterday after the Chelsea manager had congratulated every member of the Arsenal playing squad, but the Arsenal boss believes the incident is 'nothing special.'

The two managers have a history of altercations that date back to Mourinho's first season in the Premier League.

Wenger shoved Mourinho during a Premier League match last season and the Portuguese manager previous called his counterpart a specialist in failure. Yesterdays result was the French managers first ever success against Mourinho.

Rumours of a move for Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema could not be further from the truth.

That is the words of Arsene Wenger when questioned about rumours of a 65 million euro deal for the French star.

Arsenal, once again, have been linked with a move for Benzema to bolster their striking options with Spanish paper AS claiming a deal was close.

However Wenger has claimed that information could not be further from the truth.
