During the match, with Spurs 1-0 up at the time, the commentator revealed that Kane may have been omitted from the squad following a bid from Manchester United.
“Initially he was planned to be in the squad, Harry Kane,” the commentator said. “He’s not here this afternoon, he was yesterday, and there are talks at the moment that there has been an offer from Manchester United - the team Spurs will be playing on the opening day on Saturday.”

Talk of a bid stems from Spanish newspaper Marca, who sensationally claimed on Tuesday that United had a bid rejected for the England striker last week.
However, a more likely explanation for Kane not featuring against Milan on Wednesday night is the fact Tottenham play United at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime.
Kane, 22, played 86 minutes a day earlier against Real Madrid - and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was never likely to select the prolific goalscorer, who netted 31 goals in all competitions last season, for the Milan match 24 hours later.
Manchester United are on the hunt for a new striker and Kane, now one of the most coveted young strikers in Europe, would be an excellent addition to Louis van Gaal’s squad.
But Kane is happy at White Hart Lane and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would demand an astronomical fee for the player - so United fans shouldn’t get too carried away about this deal happening just yet.
