Marcelino Garcia Toral has agreed to become the new coach of relegated Real Zaragoza.

Marcelino recently quit Racing Santander after just one season in charge at El Sardinero, where he led the Cantabrian side to their first-ever Copa del Rey semi-final and a sixth-placed finish in La Liga, earning the club their first crack at UEFA Cup football.

A statement on the Zaragoza website said: "Marcelino was unanimously considered the best coach in Spanish football last season, and has opted to accept the offer of Real Zaragoza and lead our team, who next season will compete in the Segunda Division."
