Manchester United are preparing a bid for Tottenham star Hugo Lloris if they lose David de Gea to Real Madrid, reports talkSPORT.
Citing a story in L'Equipe, talkSPORT claim that Louis van Gaal is a big fan of the France international and is ready to make a late move to sign him this summer.
The deal will only happen if Real Madrid manage to come up with an acceptable offer for De Gea. So far the Red Devils have dug their heels in over the Spaniard, telling Los Blancos that any offer short of £35million will be rejected.

De Gea is still expected to depart Old Trafford at some point in the next three weeks, but Manchester United would rather lose him for nothing next summer than sell him for a derisory fee now.
If they do sell, there is a belief that Lloris can fill his gloves between the United goalposts. The 28-year-old has grown to become one of Europe's finest shot stoppers since moving to White Hart Lane from Lyon in 2012 and is comparable to De Gea in terms of ability.
However, Tottenham's chairman Daniel Levy will be reluctant to sell a player who still has four years remaining on his contract. The notoriously tough negotiator has reportedly placed a £40m price tag on his head.
That would be enough to make Lloris the most expensive goalkeeper in history, even if Real Madrid meet De Gea's asking price. Manchester United have plenty of money to spend, but even that might prove too rich for their blood.
Van Gaal should be able to get a good look at Lloris in action this weekend after he miraculously recovered from a hand injury to play in Tottenham's final pre-season friendly against AC Milan. He is now expected to start Saturday's game at Old Trafford.
